Terms of Use (EULA)
Last updated: May 1, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PDF2Audio (the "Service"), including the PDF2Audio website, web application, and iOS application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and PDF2Audio.
2. Service Description
PDF2Audio converts PDF documents into audio (podcasts, lectures, summaries, and related formats) using AI. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without notice.
3. User Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information when creating an account.
- Keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- Do not use the Service for any illegal purpose or to infringe the rights of others.
- Only upload PDFs that you own or are otherwise authorized to convert.
- Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service or its rate limits.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
PDF2Audio offers auto-renewable subscriptions (Basic, Pro, and Premium tiers, each available on a monthly or yearly billing cycle). Each tier provides a monthly character allowance for PDF-to-audio conversion. Pricing for each tier and billing cycle is shown on the in-app subscription screen and at the point of purchase. Prices may vary by region and currency.
For purchases made through the iOS App (via Apple In-App Purchase):
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews for the same period (one month or one year) at the same price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price as the original subscription unless you cancel.
- You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal at any time after purchase by going to your Apple ID Account Settings (Settings â [your name] â Subscriptions on iOS).
- No cancellation of the current subscription period is allowed once a subscription has started; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription that includes that trial.
- Refunds, where applicable, are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policies.
For purchases made through the website (via Stripe):
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the same price unless cancelled before renewal.
- You can cancel at any time from your account settings on the website; access continues until the end of the current period.
- We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods.
5. Acceptable Use and Content
You retain ownership of the PDFs you upload and the audio output generated for you. You grant PDF2Audio a limited license to process your content solely to provide and improve the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to convert any uploaded content. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, and original content (excluding user-uploaded content), is owned by PDF2Audio and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights in the Service to you.
7. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. PDF2Audio does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the AI-generated audio output will meet any particular accuracy standard.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDF2Audio and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that disrupts the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; the sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 7, 8, and 10) will survive.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in PDF2Audio's principal place of business, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
11. Apple-Specific Terms
If you obtained the App through the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and PDF2Audio, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims you have relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your use infringes that party's intellectual property rights, PDF2Audio (not Apple) is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
