PDF to MP3 Converter
Turn a PDF into an MP3 file you can download and keep, read by a natural AI voice
Upload a PDF of up to 10 MB, choose one of 13 voices and 18 languages, and PDF2Audio produces an MP3 of the text. Download it to your phone, put it on a USB stick for the car, or add it to any audio player. Books come with chapter files; every other document comes as one MP3.
What you get in the MP3
A real file, not a stream
The MP3 is yours to keep. Play it offline, copy it between devices, or load it into any app that plays local audio.
Natural AI voices
Thirteen voices, from bright and clear to deep and calm. Hear a sample of each before you choose, and pick two for Podcast mode.
Chapters for books
Book mode finds the chapters of a long PDF and lets you download one MP3 per chapter, or the whole book in one file.
18 languages
The text is read in its own language: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Hindi, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and more.
Read as written, or rewritten
Clean Read-Through speaks the document word for word. Lecture, Podcast, Summary and Deep Analysis rewrite it for listening first; each becomes an MP3 too.
Try it free
Every new account includes 50,000 free characters, roughly 15 to 25 pages. After that, pay per document by its length, or choose a plan.

How to convert a PDF to MP3
Upload the PDF. The text is extracted and you see roughly how many minutes of audio it will make before anything is charged. Choose a voice, a language and a mode: Clean Read-Through for the text exactly as written, or Lecture, Podcast or Summary for a rewritten version.
Press convert. Short documents are ready in a couple of minutes; long ones produce the first part early so you can start listening. When it is finished, press Download to save the MP3. For a book, download the chapters individually or the whole book as one file. The conversion stays in your library, so you can download it again later or share it with a link.
What the MP3 contains
The file is a standard MP3 that plays everywhere: phones, computers, car stereos, smart speakers that accept uploads and any podcast or audiobook app that reads local files. Adjust the pace in your player, or listen in PDF2Audio at 0.75x to 2x.
Running headers, page numbers and footnote markers are left out of the reading so they do not break it. Tables are read cell by cell, equations as their symbols; images and diagrams contain no text and are skipped. Scanned PDFs of up to 30 pages are read with OCR first, at the same price.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert a PDF to MP3 for free?
Yes, up to 50,000 characters, about 15 to 25 pages, with every new account. The MP3 of those conversions is yours to download. Longer documents are priced by length, shown before you pay.
Is the MP3 mine to keep?
Yes. Download it as many times as you like and play it on any device. It also stays in your library and can be shared with a link.
What is the audio quality?
A standard MP3 of a natural AI voice, suitable for phones, headphones and car stereos. The voices are the same ones you can sample on the home page.
How big is the file?
Roughly one megabyte per minute of audio. A 30-page document of about an hour is around 60 MB; a whole book is downloaded chapter by chapter or as one larger file.
Does it work with scanned PDFs or images?
Scanned PDFs of up to 30 pages are read with OCR. Longer scans need a text PDF. Images and diagrams inside a PDF contain no text and are skipped.
